When Squalo Superbi wakes up to find that he's not in his bed, it doesn't phase him. The last thing he remembers is Levi insisting that there was no way he could out-drink Xanxus, which of course lead to the swordsman challenging his boss.
His mind had no trouble filling in the blanks; obviously he had lost and his good-for-nothing coworkers thought it would be hilarious to leave him in the middle of nowhere. It wouldn't be the first time it'd happened.
The assassin stood and dusted his uniform off with his one good hand, taking note of the fact that both his sword and his prosthetic were gone. Oh, Squalo was going to flay them all alive as soon as he got back to the hotel. Looking around, he noticed something was off about the scenery.
There wasn't a mountain like this anywhere near Namimori. From the looks of things, Squalo probably wasn't even in Japan anymore. The silver haired man growled and set off in a warpath down the side of the mountain, his anger only strengthening his resolve to get back to the rest of the Varia and kick someone's ass.

A large red dragon wheeled out of the clouds above the dormant volcano that was Smokescreen Mountain. Well, not so much dormant as Fire didn't desire it to erupt. And why should he when it was his favored roost? The geothermic atmosphere did wonders for his skin after all. He folded his wings tight to his back and entered into a dive. He announced his arrival, with a loud roar. Letting the centaur blacksmiths and the faun tinkers that the lord of this castle was approaching. Fire extended his wings to slow his descent. He was a prideful beast. Perhaps the most vain of the Eight and why shouldn't he be? He was a dragon after all. Hadn't the Precursers chosen him? Oh sure, they had gifted the others too.

As an assassin of Varia-quality, Squalo tried to make a habit of not being surprised by anything. He had been trained to accept every possibility, no matter how ridiculous, and adapt to the situation.
While the swordsman certainly had not been expecting a large dragon to come swooping out of the sky, he certainly didn't let it phase him.
He watched the beast soar for a moment before deciding that, obviously, the best course of action would be to go after it.

A loud roar jolted him out of an otherwise pleasant sleep cycle. It took him a moment to gather his bearings but the first thing he noticed was the warmth. The Grid didn't feel like this.
Had he done it at last? Had he found a way out to the world of the Users? He looked about for his Black Guard, for Jarvis or perhaps Rinzler but...there was no one there.
CLU drew himself into a kneeling position, absently brushing the ...dirt off of his black suit. Dirt. He'd had no memory of this until now. That traitorous Flynn had him of it but...experiencing it was another matter.
He formed his right hand into a fist and soundly punched the ground. He ignored the annoyance of pain in his knuckles much as it amazed him.
He then picked himself off the ground just in time to see the large red creature flying through the blue sky. He then looked downward to see someone actually running toward it.
He'd never understand Users. Not ever.
But perhaps the User knew where this place was. CLU sprinted after them. It would be easier to use a LightCycle but he had the feeling it wouldn't work here.

Traversing the mountainous terrain proved to be no trouble for the aswordsman and to be frank it almost reminded him of home. If it hadn't been for the sound of footsteps that obviously were not his own catching his attention he could have, and would have, gone on for hours.
He came to a halt and scanned the area for a glimpse of his pursuer. When he spotted the man, Squalo nearly bust a gut laughing. The guy was a walking fashion disaster- even the Varia uniforms were more tasteful than the light-up body suit this freak was wearing. If Lussuria had been there, the peacock freak would have had a heart attack.
Composing himself, Squalo futilely attempted to push his bangs out of his eyes before looking the man over again.
The guy looked tough, and it probably would have been a good idea not to pick a fight with him while he was unarmed. The swordsman, however, was rarely a man of common sense.
"Vooooiiiiiiii, who the hell are you!?"

CLU skidded to a halt as he saw the other man stop also. "User, what is this place?" He asked knowing he was assuming just a little but the other man was not from the Grid and this place was not the Grid as he had left it. It was far too...imperfect for his liking. Too unpredictable as Users tended to be.
He didn't reach for his Identity Disc yet. Perhaps reluctant to use it since that's all he had from the Grid. And his Disc was his identity. He could function without it of course but he would rather not have to.
Oh what he wouldn't give for Rinzler right now. The rebuilt program was silent but would have been a comforting silence at least. Someone he could rely on to be predictable.
The User had asked him a question and he couldn't help but respond to the Query. "I am CLU and I have to assume that I'm not on the Grid anymore."

This Clue guy probably didn't have any sort of connection to the mafia; his name was far from forgettable. His mother must have hated him. Squalo snorted and gave the man another once-over.
Up close, the suit looked more like some sort of high-tech prison uniform, which would have made "The Grid" some sort of high-tech prison. Whoever he was, this Clue dude was definitely dangerous.
"Voooiii! The name's Squalo. Superbi Squalo, and I have absolutely no fucking idea what this trashy place is." The swordsman shrugged. "I just woke up in a pile of rocks."
He shook his head and pushed his hair back again. Fuck, the wind was annoying as hell. He needed to find a hair tie, and fast. "Tch. Doesn't really matter. We should find some way out of this shithole."

The Control Program nodded in agreement. The sooner he got back to The Grid and away from these Users, the better. He was way out of his comfort zone here but he could adapt if needed. He'd created the entire Grid as it was because that had been his directive given to him by Kevin Flynn.
Even if Flynn had broken his promise that they would do it together.
This User was just as irritating as they tended to be. He strongly desired to lash out with his fists. More out of his frustration towards Users in general. But perhaps this one could be useful in someway to him. Okay, he'd play this game. He wouldn't enjoy himself in this imperfect world but he knew when he didn't have any choice.
"Maybe that..." And he searched his memory for the right words, finding none for such a beast he improvised. "...creature knows." Stranger things occurred on the Grid then lizards with wings. If the ISOs could be randomly created...
CLU started walking in the general direction the creature had been flying. If the User followed him or not, that was up to them.

Fire landed delicately in the town square and folded his wings along his back. There were two Sleepwalkers nearby. One was presently heading in his direction. The one with the glowing clothing. The ancient dragon had to admit he hadn't seen anything like this one before. But perhaps the strange Dreamer could teach Fire and by extension Eden something about where he came from. Fire decided to stay put. He smoothed a paw over the frill on his head and exhaled smoke from his nostrils. Fire was not as large as his brother Earth who dwarfed mountains. But he was spectacular in his own right. Or at least his ego told him so.

Post by Dino Cavallone on Sept 10, 2012 22:00:15 GMT -6
The thought had crossed Dinos mind that something horrible had happened. The ground was the farthest thing from his own bed, and Dino tried to recall if he even had fallen asleep in his own bed. The earlier days events were all a blank. God, he hadn't been thrown into some gutter had he?
Did he still have all of his leg? His fingers? Flexing his both his toes and fingers, the blonde decided he was all in one piece. Dino opened his eyes and almost groaned.
That definitely wasn't a ceiling. Looking right to left, the chances of him being even close to his bed was made nearly nonexistent. He was an alley, and not one he was familiar with either.
Cavallone swore in Italian and slowly pulled himself up, leaning against the wall. A few seconds of planning later and he swept the dust off of his pants, stumbling out of the alley and into a town filled with buildings he didn't recognize.

There's something unsettling about this Clue. His mannerisms, the way he carries himself, everything about the other man just feels off. The glowing jumpsuit was sort of freaky, too. Unfortunately, he's the only other person Squalo's seen so far and there's something intriguing about the confidence that seems to radiate from him and so Squalo puts his unease on the back burner and follows him into town, reluctant to be alone in the middle of Assfuck, Nowhere.
Up close the beast was even more impressive than it had been soaring in the air. There was no denying it now - that was definitely a dragon. If he had been paying attention the silver haired swordsman would have sworn he saw a familiar mop of gold hair out the corner of his eye, but he was focused entirely on the dragon resting in the town square.
Everything from the red scales that gleamed in the light to the proud way it held itself was awe inspiring. Squalo couldn't help but be impressed. "Vooooiiiii, dragon. Can you speak?" They could in all the fairy tales, right? As far as the assassin figured, it would just be better to take everything in stride than freak out at this point.

Clu was not at all sure he liked the beast anymore up close than he did from a distance. Something like this would never have endured on the Grid. Kevin Flynn had had no intentions for dragons in his perfect system but if the ISOs could randomly manifest from the Sea...
Clu did not like where the possibilities could go. And here he was...wherever here was while those possibilities could be occurring. Who knew what was going on with him here? Who knew what sort of imperfection was running rampant in his perfect system?
His gloved hands had closed themselves into fists the more he thought about it but then the User beside him had spoke. Asking if the dragon could speak. Of course it could speak. If it wasn't capable of speaking, it wouldn't have been waiting for them to arrive.
"I know you're capable of speaking. Unlike my...friend here, I know you can. So perhaps you can answer some questions for us. Like where are we, for starters?" The way he had said the word "friend" had implied that he didn't really know what to refer to Squalo as. But it could just as easily be that he didn't have much faith in Users, and that could be dangerous.

The red dragon could only laugh at the first question posed to him. And it sounded just as one would imagine a dragon laughing to sound. "Why, yes, I am quite capable of speaking. We wouldn't be much use to anyone if we couldn't, after all." Fire replied before turning his attention to the other of the pair. "All your questions will be answered should you speak them. As for where you are, you are on the world called Eden. More specifically, the vicinity of Smokescreen Mountain, my preferred roost. You arrived here having fallen asleep or...some sort of equivalent there of, in your own realm. Though to be quite honest, we're not quite sure of the specifics of the process. You, like all Dreamwalkers, are here for a reason." The dragon paused, "I am called Fire. For that is the element I was put in charge of by The Precursers and as such am a member of the Pantheon. We're rather important to Eden."
