IC Stuff:
Name: Morbel Sarita
Alias/Nickname: N/A
Age: He's about seventeen in human years (Ask Muddles, I don't understand the Hali Kra maths)
Fandom: Original character. (From Muddles' universe!)
Appearance: Morbel is pale-skinned and delicately beautiful. He is commonly mistaken for a woman with his pouty bow-shaped lips and long platinum blonde hair. The term “pretty boy” doesn't even really begin to cover it. He is a very lean man with little muscle definition, standing at about 5'7. However, despite his pretty face and being physically unimposing Morbel can often be seen wearing a scowl that can turn others into anxious gibbering idiots
Strengths: Morbel is a cunning and clever man but more than that he is able to express his ideas effectively and eloquently. He has not been studying magic for very long as the Sarita line does not typically exhibit much talent in the field and thus it did not occur to his parents to have him practice as a child but he has been trying to make up for lost time. He has an inherently sneaky and shadowy nature and his spells are all about setting traps, distracting enemies and then hitting them from a safe distance. Primarily, he is a golemist who uses alchemy to summon golems made up of objects in his environment.
In addition, Morbel is a member of a race of animal shape-shifters called the Hali Kra. He can transform into a white peacock, a genetic variant of the Indian Blue Peacock. Though the colorful plumage of a peacock is the feature of the bird that is often most admired, Morbel is just as impressive, if not more so, with his striking white feathers.
Weaknesses: If Morbel tries to summon a golem without adequate material available, the golem will only be able to move forward at a crawl until it has gathered enough mass from its surroundings to stand on its own. Morbel is not physically resilient and doesn't stand much of a chance in a straight fight. When things don't go his way in an already desperate situation he sucuumbs quickly to anger and despair, which often drives him to say things that may unwisely provoke his opponent. He is always a tad on the mentally unstable side so it doesn't take much to send him over the edge.
History: The Sarita family founded the Imperial Guard and thus hold an elite status in the empire, their line producing some of the best soldiers available. Morbel and his twin sister Arket were the second youngest of the eight Sarita siblings but for what they lacked in age they made up for in oddness. Both incredibly small and pale and blonde in a family of dark-haired giants, in appearance they were the only Sarita children who took strongly after their father, Mosreld. In terms of temperament the twins were also peculiar. Since birth, Arket was alarmingly unemotive and unsmiling, an impassive stoic who made the other children uneasy.
Morbel on the other hand, prettier than his twin sister and more easily frightened was a silent and obedient but brooding child who never dared to go after anything he wanted. He watched from a distance, rarely seen nor heard, envious of the fact that life's possibilities seemed endless to his older thickheaded but more confident and hardy siblings, particularly his eldest brother Drakmar. What he wanted more than anything was to be like them, to be strong and powerful and respected. Morbel truly loved his family but as he grew older he became certain that they would never accept him as he was and so he became determined to prove himself by gaining political power through whatever means necessary.
Once he reached adolescence, it came to his attention that the Adviser to the Empress, Vaken Radmos had developed an attraction to him. Vaken had the reputation of being the most intelligent man in the empire but his addiction to the drink sometimes limited his capabilities on the job. Morbel consented to sleeping with him in hopes of being able to run the show whenever Vaken was too inebriated to do his work and was soon being seriously considered as a possible replacement for the older man.
Personality: In a family made up primarily of muscular bodyguards, Morbel is something of a black sheep. Not as physically powerful as most of his brothers and sisters, Morbel has had to trust that his own intelligence (and eventually his latent magical abilities) would be enough to keep him out of trouble. He always tries to come up with plans of action for foreseeable problems in advance. When arguments escalate in his household, he has perfected the art of keeping his mouth shut and indulging in the occasional eye-roll, staying cruelly calm.
Despite finding ways to make up for his shortcomings, Morbel has always been resentful of the fact that he does not measure up to the perceived expectations of his family. He wants his non-combative role to be viewed with equal importance and he is desperate for his parents' approval and attention but he hates it whenever that attention takes the form of pity.
Morbel is a cold intellectual who rarely curses and is well spoken but in a way that makes him come off as haughty instead of refined. He is also exceedingly vain and can often be caught primping, preening and generally living up to his peacock nature. He has difficulty making friends but he usually doesn't see any particular need for them. One of the only people he feels like he can talk to as an equal is Vaken and Morbel detests him about half of the time.
Anything else: Can't think of anything at the moment.
