His origins are a mystery. None of the Pantheon will say how he came about but as even the Pantheon has spoken of dreaming, perhaps he has always existed. He is not considered a part of the Pantheon but as a separate entity. Opinions of him vary even with the same person. He brings restorative sleep but he also governs insomnia and bad dreams.
Unknown to all but Oneiroi, he was an earlier being visited by the Precursers. His dreams were to give a respite from the stresses of everyday life and for the dragons to restore their energy. However, at a certain time, he started to lose himself to madness. He remains lucid but it is theorized that while he grants others sleep, he is unable to.
He is able to flit through dreams and is witnessed as either an ethereal dragon or as a mysterious masked figure. If he lingers too long, those he visits may just end up mad themselves.
