Clu wasn't sure how long he'd been walking. He wasn't sure how time progressed here. Nor how to convert it from cycles.
What he did know what that his energy reserves were dangerously low. If the dimmed circuits which were normally a vibrant gold were any indication. He would have to imbibe some energy soon.
Even without having to maintain the entire Grid, which he was loathe to think the state of without him, he'd used up too much. Most of it was his own doing, he could admit that. Hindsight was always 20/20.
What a stupid saying, really. Programs' vision didn't fade like Users. Nothing about them deteriorated. Well, scars could be gotten of course. Rinzler had a rather impressive set which he'd never really been able to get rid of. But then again Rinzler was a complex program with equally complex coding.
Well, this place looked safe enough, Clu could always regain energy the old fashioned way. Even if it was a terrible way. There was a building off in the distance, could be a farm or something similar. But Clu was loathe to seek aid from Users.
He settled down on the grass, leaning against a tree for shade. He closed his eyes and allowed himself to partially shut down. Alert enough in case of danger but enough to regain energy from what he knew to be called 'sleeping'. His circuits lightly flickering as if he were breathing.

Jergen was rather used to waking in odd places but this time he outdid himself. He knew he went to sleep in a bed...or at least on top of it, next to a warm body. Yet here he was face down in the grass.
He chanced open an eye to look around. He was grateful he was dressed at least. Naked out in daylight was always an awkward thing. But no, he'd collapsed on top of the covers. Dressed in a black tank top under a black leather jacket. And of course black pants and black boots.
He lifted his head off the grass and looked about. There was a building off in the distance so at least there was civilization. Further investigation found a man dressed in odd clothing that...flickered slightly. And in a rhythmic fashion as if with his breathing.
Odd. Even asleep, his heightened sense of smell should have picked up some sort of scent. He brought himself first to his knees and then to his feet. He dusted himself off a bit in habitual fashion before crossing the short distance with all the curiosity of a kitten. He could almost hear Kessler shouting at him.
"Hey, buddy, you okay?" He asked. He never could quite get rid of his German accent.

There was someone trying to get his attention. No doubt a User who didn't know who they were dealing with. Or what they were dealing with.
He'd just wanted a nap. Was that so much to ask?
He opened his eyes to take in the sight of a human wearing a leather jacket. His first thought was that it was Kevin Flynn but that wouldn't make much sense. Given how long Flynn had been trapped in the Grid, he would at least look like he'd been trapped a thousand cycles. Humans still aged.
And that had not been Flynn's voice.
So Clu at least relaxed a bit. He wouldn't have to deal with his User in this place. So he felt like he should inform this person where they were. "It's called Eden. And you're stuck here. Just as I am." He announced as he looked down at his circuits. They weren't as bright as he was comfortable with but they weren't as dim as they had been either.
That was something at least.

Jergen knelt down before the other man once he started talking. "Eden." He repeated as he looked about. Well it didn't seem that terrible really. There could be worse places to be stuck in.
Like Russia.
The man shuddered a bit before he heard the sound of waves crashing nearby. "Doesn't seem like a terrible place to be stuck really." He mused out loud. "The sun's shining. Not a cloud in the sky."
He rubbed his chin lightly knowing Klaus was never going to believe this. Then he looked at those glowing lines on the other's clothing. "Never seen clothes like that. What do these lines mean?" And he leaned forward to touch one near on the other's leg.

Clu just kind of glared at the User for a moment as he went on with how it was nice out. "Energy doesn't rain from the sky. It's so imperfect." The System Administrator just about hissed out. He mourned for the perfection he had attained in the Grid.
No thanks to Users like Kevin Flynn. Their so called creator was either absent from the Grid or when he was on the Grid, focused on his little pet projects. Like those abominations that had crawled out of the sea. The ISOs.
And what was so great about them anyway? They had no purpose like the programs did. They were unnatural and just asking to be purged.
He noticed movement out of the corner of his eye as a hand sought to touch his circuit on his leg. Clu grabbed the hand and pulled the User closer. With a quick movement he had removed his disc and activated the spinning edge. He held the blade just below the User's chin.
"Do not touch those."

Gaia tilted her head. She wasn't quite sure what she had been witnessing between these two Dreamwalkers her husband had told her to meet here at the Hatchery. Life hadn't said just how these two were important before he'd rushed off to the Dragon Graveyeard. All he said was it had been of 'dire importance' much as most everything was with him. However, when the one had drawn his weapon she decided she had to intervene. The glittering golden dragon cleared her throat to get their attention. "Pardon me, gentlemen, but if I might have a word with the both of you? I don't mean to intrude but if it is as my husband says, then it is important that we talk. Much as I enjoy the idea of two males wrestling with each other in some sort of dominance display, now's not the time."

Jergen found himself grabbed and then a strange whirring thing was held to his throat. It reminded him of a buzzsaw and he didn't want to imagine what it would to do flesh. ...Even if he could heal from such things given enough time.
"Right. No touching the glowing lines." Jergen agreed with the other man's threat with a weak smile.
Then his attention was diverted to the gold dragon that had somehow arrived unnoticed by either of them. Granted he had been more concerned with the blade at his throat but he should have heard something that big.
And dragons weren't that odd. Well, before Russia he would have thought it odd. Now with being a predatory cat three nights out of the month had convinced him to keep an open mind. And the waking up naked in odd places with a bloodstained dog collar nearby thing. That helped too.
"...It's not what it looks like. I have a ma...companion." He'd been about to say 'mate' but that was the animal in him speaking.

The System Admin deactivated the disc when he heard the female speak. He then shoved the male User away once the meaning of the implication set in. "You think I would be interested in Users?"
Then he actually turned to look at the woman, who turned out to be a gold lizard with wings. He searched for the right word in his memory. Dragon. Right that was it.
He'd seen one before today. A red one that had called itself Fire. The beast had explained where he was and that he was in fact stuck here. On a dirtball filled with Users.
A bit frustrating really.
Clu stood up from where he'd been sitting and dusted himself off. Something he'd never had to do on the Grid. But he hated the appearance of dirt on his pristine black clothing. An annoyance he would have to put up with really.
"So what's so important that I haven't already heard before?"

The golden leviathan examined the man with the glowing lines. Something about his scent seemed...wrong but Life had expressed a keen interest in this one so she would indulge him for the moment. The other one smelt mostly human but there was another scent lingering there. The scent of blood that always hangs over a predator. Curious indeed. "This place is called Eden and you both are here for a reason. You have both been selected by the planet."
Life was far better at interacting with the Dreamwalkers than she was. Even if all he wanted to do was converse with the Planet these days. She gave a sigh. "One of our number has recently rebelled against us and all that we know. We have him so far contained but he is a crafty one and will no doubt find a flaw in the enchantments that hold him.
"...Which is where the two of you come in. We are in need of champions for our cause. Death has so far recruited one. A rather fearsome sorcerer that is just about as unhinged as he is himself. What we ask of you is dangerous and you are free to walk away but the very future depends on your choice. Please think carefully. The both of you."
